Blaber (Capt.) : A painstaking and improving bat ; good -paced change bowler , and excellent point . *D. C. Bartley : Wasunable to play at the beginning of the season ; is a free player ; bowls slow round with considerable break, but hardly enough variety in pace and pitch . *C. R. Higgens : A steady bat, with good forward and awkward back play ; a sound field . *G. B. Scriven : A slow run-maker; plays with a straight bat, but lets off too manyof the loose balls , especially on the off side ; useful medium-paced bowler on a fast ground ; fair field . * G. V. B. Wimbush: Goodleft -armbowler, with an easy action ; has bowled with success ; free bat , withoutm u c hdefence; excellent field . A. G. Stubbs : Will b e captain next year; promising bat, with a good reach and cutting power; has bowled well at times, but is rather inclined to be short ; good field . A. P. Snell : Will be here next year ; a patient bat, and good leg hitter ; his forward play is decidedly dangerous ; capital field , with quick and true return from deep field . B. Hamilton: Will be here next year; has all the making in himof a sound bat ; useful left -hand bowler; good field . *A. Finch : Has made runs pluckily at times whenwanted; hits cleanly , but is not disinclined to a pull nowand then , with fatal consequences ; good field , and sometimes bowls . J. Howard : Wants a quick ground to bring out his excellent driving and cutting powers ; really ought to makea good bat ; his fielding will admit of improvement. *Е. С.
