Holmes (12.6 ) : Hascaptained the eleven on the whole above the average ; a fair bat, with good hitting powers ; as wicket -keep has kept down the extras . A. G. Robertson (14.5 ) : A greatly improved bat, and a slashing hitter , but has yet to learn to makefull use of his length ; a fair fast bowler , but sacrifices pitch to pace ; a good field when awake. C. C. Brodhurst (12.2 ) : Is a good bat , with an ugly , stiff style ; cuts well, and is a capital field . R. Bousfield (54.8 ) : Is, as his splendid average shows, a very fine bat ; has a fine forward stroke , and his drives are hard and clean; a useful medium-pace bowler, with off -break, and a fair field . F. C. L. Hamilton (40.1 ) : A fine bat, with excellent scoring powers, whorarely lets off a leg -ball ; a smart field who can hold a catch . S. A. D. Suffling (17.1 ) : Hits hard, and makes runs; a fair field . B. Gregory (13.3) : Is strong on the off , but a straight half volley is almost invariably fatal to him; fields cleanly , and catches well. H. Serjeant (15.3 ) : Agood, steady bat, with strong defence ; poor field . G. C. Higgs (11.6 ) : Canbat well if he survives his first few overs , which, however, rarely happens ; good bowler, varying pitch and pace well ; fair field . T. E. Gatehouse (8.2) : Will makea good bat whenhe canget rid of his nervousness and a certain flourish with his bat, which spoils his play; good bowler, who uses his head. E. E. Farmer (10.2 ) : Is a good all-round m a n; a useful and steady bat, and an excellent slow bowler , with break both ways ; smart and energetic field .
