S. de St. Croix : Has improved immensely in his batting this year ; a very fair field . P. S. H. Crickitt : H a sonly played in afewmatches , but has shownsome good batting powers ,but plays backtoo much; very useful in the field . R. W. C. Hunt: Moresuccessful this year than last as a bat, though he is too fond of hitting ; has bowled oc- casionally with moderate success ; a good out-field . F. H. Barry: A very energetic cricketer , but does not watch the ball enough; a good change bowler and field . C. E. Slocock : Avery promising cricketer ; a good bat , but tries to hit too muchat straight balls ; has been the mainstay of the eleven in bowling, being very difficult on a sticky wicket ; an excellent field anywhere. H. O. Ritchie : A very good and useful bat; plays straight balls very cautiously , but canpunish loose bowling ; a good field , and fair change bowler . W. Кпох- Johnson : Adisappointing bat ; hits too much, and seldom plays with a straight bat, though he manages to make runs ; lazy in the field . F. J. E. Powles : Has thepromise of makinga good cricketer ; often keeps up his wicket against good bowling; has proved very useful at point . O. G.
