SELWYNELEVEN IN 1888.-IV. A. R. Young : Combined the office of cap- tain and bowler in an admirable degree ; good bat , and sure field . J. B. Stork : A fast right -hand bowler, keeping a good length ; has been very successful in the college matches ; can make runs , but owing to an injured hand batted and fielded under difficulties . W . R. M. Leake: Unableto assist the teamm u c h owing to his Tripos , but whenhe played wasof great service both in his batting and fielding ; a fair change bowler . G. IH. Knight : Was very successful as a bat,but only managed to play a few times owing to his Tripos . R. H. Wilson : A nexcellent wicket -keeper ; a powerful but reckless hitter . R. G. Ley : Improved in batting , has a steady defence , but does not punish a loose ball sufficiently ; safe field . L. F. Ward: A fair field ; can makeruns . Н. С. Knott : Useful bat, made runs whenthey were wanted. A. F. Dauglish : A capital field , and reliable bat, always ready to steal a run ; good wicket -keeper . E. N. Rankin : Plays in good style , but inclined to play forward too much on a slow wicket . P. K. Beisiegel : A safe catch and field ; can punish a loose ball . L. H. C.
