A nexceedingly well -deserved victory for Derbyshire . The chief factor was the bowling of Hulme, whotook fifteen Yorkshire wickets at an average of less than five runs . Ulyett and Peel were away playing at the Oval for England v. Australia , and without themYorkshire were only able to account for 115 runs as the total of their first innings . Derbyshire headed this by 15, and then got rid of their opponents a second time for 96, leaving them with 83 to win. Thesewere obtained for the loss of only three batsmen, thanks to Mr. Wright's 35(not out). Derbyshire , 129 and 83 (three wickets ) ; total , 212. Yorkshire , 115 and96; total , 211 .
