Turner and Ferris , and a determined stand by Mr. H. Hill and Preston was the only feature in their innings of 125. The Aus- tralians , whenthey went in, too, fared badly, losing Messrs . McDonnell, Jones , and Trott , three of their best batsmen, for only 23. Messrs . Bonnor and Black- ham, however, altered the appearance of the gameby their free hitting , and it m a ybe remarked that the former was only at the wickets an hour and forty minutesfor his 94. W h e nYorkshire entered on their second innings in a minority of 167, Hall and Ulyett put on 40 before the first wicket fell . After this , though , Messrs . Turner and Ferris bowled to a great tune, and only 63 were added , Mr. Turner , when he resumed at 76, bowling ten overs for nine runs andfour wickets .
