After Lancashire hadbeen dis- missed for 139 the wicket assisted Watsonand Briggs to such an extent that they dismissed their opponents for the moderate total of 56. Lancashire also found the wicket far from easy , and with some good bowling from Hulme it cost them six wickets before they obtained the requisite numberof runs .
