A good steady bat ; useful change slow bowler ; fields well. CRAWLEY, E. (Harrow and Cambridge ). A very fine bat , with great powers of defence ; ought to assist the County more. CRAWLEY, H. E. (Harrow and Cambridge ) . A fine bat when in form ; good field. JONES , G. M. (Winchester and Oxford ) . A fair bat and field ; should be of great help to the Countyin the future. MALDEN, E. (Cambridge). Adashing bat ; good field and bowler . NICHOLLS, W . H. A most promising left -hand fast bowler, should use his head m o r e . PIGG, C. (Cambridge) . Goodbat, but out of form this season ; bowls slow round- a r m. PIGG, H. (Cambridge). A very fine bat, but singularly out of luck for the County; a good fast round-arm bowler , and fine field . SHARPE, Rev. C. M. (Cambridge). A fine dashing bat, and still useful as a b o w l e r. SWIFT, E. L. A useful bat and bowler. THURSBY, Rev. H. E. A fine bat, hitting very hard. TYLECOTE , H. G. (Clifton and Oxford ). A good all -round cricketer ; did not assist the Countythis season. WALES, E. H. A steady bat, and good field . K E N T . CHRISTOPHERSON, S. (Uppingham). Moderate bat, with good hitting powers ; owing to injury to bowling arm was able to play little first -class cricket last season ; active field . HARRIS, Lord (Eton and Oxford). Oneof the best judges of the game; a fine bat, playing in excellent style , and hitting with great freedom ; played but little last season owing to Parliamentary duties , but whenable to play showed he had not yet lost his batting powers. KEMP, M. C. (Harrowand Oxford). A good bat, and first -class wicket -keeper ; played only in the later County matches . MARCHANT, F. (Eton and Cambridge). A good bat and field ; showed much improved form as a bat, particularly in the earlier part of last season . PATTERSON , W. H. (Harrow and Oxford ). Almost , if not quite , the most careful and painstaking bat of the day ; good field ; can bowl a little ; was again of the greatest assistance to the County. RASHLEIGH , W. (Tonbridge ). Was of great assistance to both Oxford and the County; careful bat, with good hitting powers ; improved as a field . THORNTON, Rev. R. T. (Oxford ). Bats in peculiar form , but a difficult wicket to get ; good field ; did not play muchfor the County last season . TONGE, J. N. (Cheltenham ). A careful bat , with good defence ; played more thanone excellent innings for County, notably against Notts and Glouces- tershire. WILSON, Rev. C. (Tonbridge and Cambridge). Fine bat, playing very hard on theball ; played but little last season . WILSON, L. A useful all -round cricketer ; showed wonderfully improved form in first -class cricket last season , his batting against Notts and Yorkshire being of the very highest class .
