Jagger(20.3 ) : A very useful m a nin a country team; bats well ,but is inclined to scoop ; a steady bowler . H. M. Rush (33.6 ) : A mighty slogger , anda tremendouslyfast bowler, equally dangerousto batsmenandto m e nfielding close in; a very good wicket-keep. O. Jones (24.4): A slashing bat, with good defence; a fast bowler, anda brilliant field . L. P. Pugh(27) : A very good bat, hitting well w h e nhe gets a chance; bowlslobs with little or no success . W . P. Owen(8) : A fair bat, anda good change bowler. D. C. Davies (8.6) : Thebest secretary the club has ever had; an improving cricketer , especially in the fielding department. G. Powell(2.4): A poor bat; sometimestakes wickets whenevery one else has failed ; should learn to pay more attention to his captain's orders . G. H. Pitt (5.1) : Agoodfast bowler, anda moderatebat. A. C. Powell(1.1) : A nenthusiastic cricketer , but unfortunately business prevents him frompaying muchattention to the game. J. Edgar (14) : Good, defensive bat; can also keep wicket ; fine all -round cricketer ; plays brilliant cricket ; splendid fast bowler , and can field anywhere . J. Wrighitt (11.9 ): Good, steady player , generally good for runs ; fine out-field . H. Usher (11.7): Goodall -round man; dashing bat, and a most difficult bowler on his day. R. Newbold (11.5 ) : G o o dall -round m a n; hits hard on the on-side , and has a good stroke behind cover -point . W. A. Usher (10.7): Thebest bat in the team, but has been unlucky ; is most sure of runs on a deadwicket ; fancies he can bowl, but is mistaken . E. W. Usher (9.7) : Aplucky bat, has fine defence , and is improving fast-aged 15. W. Harbour(8.8) : Fine slow bowler , with very good judgment ; very difficult on a sticky wicket . R. R. Young (8.4 ) : A much improved bat, and a fine out-field . H. B. Young (5.7) : A muchbetter bat than his position on the average shows ; is very nervous. D R I F F I E L D C H U R C H . (10) : Afine all -round exponent of the game, being a good bat, and rarely failing to play auseful innings ; bowls a most puzzling ball ,and onhis wicket unplayable -40wickets , average 6. F. Berry (18.6 ) : Apowerful batsman, playing hard and sound cricket , and scoring heavily throughout the season ; also an excellent wicket -keeper . J. T. Brown(10.6 ) : Excellent all -round youngcricketer , batting superbly the latter part of the season ; bowls an excellently- pitched ball and very straight , winning the bowling prize ; splendid field -31 wickets , average 5.4. H. Botterill (8.5) : Fell off in batting owing to ill -health ; plays a nice innings occa- sionally , but unreliable , on account of weak defence ; good catch in the long-field . M. Dickenson (7) : Still a sound and useful batsman, but not so certain as formerly ; good field at point . A. McLaurie (6.2 ) : Muchimproved bat, but shines as a fast bowler , proving a veritable "demon" whenon the spot-54 wickets , average 6.29 . J. Foster (5.6) : Very useful bat,but spoilt with anover-anxiety to score ; possesses good hitting power. J. Holliday (5.4) : Hard- hitting bat, and dangerous against loose bowling, but very reckless and uncertain ; good field . E.Richardson (5.3): A fine and powerful bat, hitting well all round, but has been a great
