Robertson (20) : Fields well at cover -point ; bowls fairly as a change, and bats in good form, but without sufficient strength . H. Sutthery (17.1 ) : Is a good field and safe catch; throws in particularly well ; he bats fairly well, but will never be good till he uses his wrists as well as his arms. P. G. Howes (7.1 ): Is a very straight bowler , with good and even temper; anerratic bat,and moderate field . R. E. Burkill (9.8) : Played one good innings of 41, but otherwise was not successful ; a fair medium-pacebowler. E. K. Collins (7.1) : Rather uncertain bat,but works hard, and is an excellent field . H. M. Dexter (18.9 ) : Has muchimproved in batting by steady defence ; played several invaluable innings for his side ; hits hard and clean ; not very active in the field ;a fast anderratic bowler . A. L. Harris (14.14 ) : Should be more steady till well set , and not attempt to pull straight balls ; he would thenbat well ; works well at long-stop. J. Hatt (11.3 ) : Avery pretty bat, and makes somegood strokes , but is too fond of hitting , for which he has very little power; hasimproved in the field . W.H. Hill (21.13 ) : Hasgreatly improved as abat , with good cutting andoff -driving powers ; is asplendid field anywhere, and a most energetic secretary . J. W. Marsh (28.4 ): Has the highest average ,batting with confidence and power ; a good cap- tain,andanexcellent judge of the game. W. Marsh (8.2): Ahard-hitting bat ; with careful practice ofdefence he should become a good bat; is a really good long-field ,andhas madesome brilliant catches . F. Marsh(12) : Acareful bat,keeping up his wicket well ; cuts ingoodstyle , andshould develop into a really fine bat; muchtoo slow in the field . W. Wells (23.7 ): Plays with a straight bat, and therefore has a good defence ; hits with great freedom and power; excellent field ; his bowling this season has been of great service to his side . F. S. R. Chichester : Very smart wicket -keeper ,but cannot always be relied on ; as a bathasnot come up to expectations formed two years ago, but hits hard with success on his day. W. Harold-Barry : Capital all -round cricketer ; possesses strong defence and great punishing powers ; very fair field , and a good fast bowler, with a dangerous break from the off. R. P. Lynam: Goodmedium-paced bowler, very straight , and with a high delivery , but not so dangerous as last year ; bats in good style , cuts well, and drives hard to the off ; smart field at point . H. W. Bowen: Bats in nice style ,but lacks hitting powers ; muchimproved in his fielding , and sometimes successful as a bowler . H. B. Bowen: First -rate long-stop, with a smart return ; disappointing bat ; ought to makemore use of his height . J. McDonogh: A useful andsometimes successful slow bowler ; should take it less to heart when his bowling is hit; good bat, will do better whenhe grows stronger ; poorfield . W. Chichester : Hits well to leg,andhas a deep cut , but is wanting in defence ; fairly good in the field , and should bowl withpractice . J. Barry : Acareful bat, but slow in getting runs; safe field ; should be a use- ful m a nnext year. H. Milner : Plays in good style , but must learn not to try andpull straight balls ; keen in the field , and throws in well ; bowls mediumround. J.
