Nisbet , Captain : Often made runs when most wanted, though too muchinclined to " sky " the ball ; good bowler and field . G. S. Nokes: Asplendid m e d i u m-pacebowler, should develop into first -class form, as heis seldom off the wicket, andhasgoodpitch together witha breakfromthe " off " ; bats andfields well. M. Smith : Bats very steadily , and would occasionally hit hard ; avery good third m a n. J.F. Thomas : Very fair bowler ; poor bat. J. Fitz- Gerald (17.2): Has great hitting powers , often seen to advantage , very strong on leg ; very good field , though awkward return ; bowls sometimes with an off break. J. J. McNamara (14): Bats with determination , strong on the off , his drives being good, though with too much tendency to flourish ; medium-pace bowler , over -arm, with effective leg break , difficult on wet wicket . W. Espantoso Capt. (12.9): Invaluable as a batsman, strong and patient defence , slow inmakingruns ; fair field ; keeps wicket , but without muchsuccess . M. FitzGerald (12.3 ): Good left -handover-arm bowler , with considerable break both ways; hits hard, but somewhat lacks defence . P. D. FitzGerald (8.2 ): Is a promising cricketer all round, though slow between wickets ; bowls medium, left , but has not sufficient commandof pitch . J. Ryan(6): Is a very fair bat, has great hitting powers , plays with straight bat; slow infield . Rev. E. Scott (5.9 ): Pretty bat, though weak defence , his leg stroke much admired ; takes wicket when required . J. C. M c N a m a r a(5.2) : Fair bat, plays with rather stiff style ; excellent field , andsure catch. J. J. Atkins (3.7 ) : Afair bat, but slow defence ,wants more coaching ; good field ; agood m a n for weak bowling . P. A. Espantoso (3.5 ): Avery promising bat at beginning of season ,but fell off towards the end; quick field , his picking up and straight returns were very good. J. J. Badeley (16.3 ) : Agood bowler , and has improved in batting more perhaps than any one in the team; he is a fast run-getter , with good, free style . R. A. A. Beresford , Capt. (41.10 ): A fair fast bowler , and fine bat; he has played his part of captain well ; we expect great things of him in years to come. C. H. Davis (11.10 ): Avery patient but ungraceful bat ; only a moderate field ; has bowledas a change. H. W. Dickson (23.1 ): Is distinctly our best m a n; a very sound cricketer all round; a straight and careful medium-pace bowler ; excellent bat, and reliable field anywhere . J. G. Dickson (17.6 ): Has improved marvellously ,both behind the wickets and in front of them; during the last few weeks of the season he batted in excellent form. A. F. Parry (16.2 ) : A very correct left -handbat, and capital field , especially in the country ; a fair bowler as a
