R. Theobald (Capt) : Asabat lacks confidence , but has played one or two good innings ; has a very good off-stroke ; a good field ; not so successful as a bowler (medium overhand ). L. C. V. Bathurst : Avery patient bat, and with increasing strength should be very good ; a fair slow left- handbowler. G. M. Soames : Hasdisappointed us muchas a bowler (fast left- hand), being far too erratic ; a poor field , with bad return ; bats in a style of his own. *H. S. Verity : As a bat has no defence , and sacrifices all to the chance of a hit ; never makes use of his length of reach ; a very moderate medium-paced bowler ; a slow field , with poor return . J. H. F. Grayson : Im- proved decidedly towards the end of term; strong on the off , must learn to play onhis leg stump; at present he is dreadfully inclined to run away; is rather too anxious to score ; good field , and safe catch ; has been knownto bowl. *A. K. T. Bruce : Has been very useful behind the wickets ; improving steadily ; as a bat he must learn to play straighter , and to keep his leg from guarding his wicket . *C. M. Orme : Bowls very straight (medium) ; must learn to stand up to the bowling ; a poor field . C. C. Lempriere : Improved both as a bat and field on the whole ; must practise on his leg stump; can bowl. H. F. Sich : Hasbeen rather a disappointment in batting ; lacks power and confidence ; has a nice stroke to off, butw e a kon the leg side ; a fair changebowler; mustbe careful not to bowl too fast ; only a moderate field . H. C. Frith : Aslow field ; batted better lately ; too keen on hitting ; has a'good cut behind the wicket . *W. E. Grantham : Bats patiently , but lacks strength ; has improved as a field lately ; has bowled.
