1 0 4 L I L L Y W H I T E ' SCRICKETERS' A N N U A L. (4) Y o r k s h i r ev. C h e s h i r e. Halifax, July 8 and 9. A neasy win for Yorkshire , though Ulyett , Bates , and Preston were all absent . This result wasmainly due to a fine innings of 206 played by Lee, who had only played for his county once previously during the season . Hall (52) and Peel (52) also gave material assistance towards the large total of 426 runs . Cheshire were unable to reach the hundred in either attempt , and were beaten by an innings and 235 runs . Yorkshire , 426. Cheshire , 97and 94 ; total , 191 . (5) Y o r k s h i r ev. W a r w i c k s h i r e . Birmingham, July 11 and 12. Yorkshire had not its best eleven with Mr. Hawke, Ulyett , Bates , Hunter , and Peel all engaged elsewhere . Still the gamewas in their favour throughout , and the Warwickshire team never had really a look in. Mr. J. Wilson , M r, H.Hill , Wardall of Middlesbro ', and Mr. J. E. Ellis had a trial for Yorkshire , the last- namedin place of Hunter at the wicket. G. P. Harrison , the fast bowler who proved so successful in 1884 , too , reappeared in the eleven , and with satisfactory results , taking six wickets in the match for 59 runs . Mr. Wilson proved most effective with bat as well as ball . H e not only scored 62, but in addition took seven wicketsw i t hhis lobs at a cost of 7 0 runs. H a l lw a s at the wicketsa little over three hours for his 116-a fine display of batting , with only one chance , towards the end. Yorkshire wonbyaninnings and 160 runs . Yorkshire , 384. Warwickshire, 128 and 96 ; total , 224. (6) Y o r k s h i r ev. C h e s h i r e. Stockport , July 15 and 16. Thoughthey fared better than in the first match, Cheshire were unable to makeanything like a show against their powerful opponents . Lee evidently relishes the Cheshire bowling, as he followed up his grand score of 206 on the previous occasion by a brilliant innings of 144 in Yorkshire's second innings . Mr. J. Wilson played well in the same for 70, and bowled lobs with success , taking five wickets for 27 runs . Yorkshire , 140 and 345 ; total , 485. Cheshire , 111 and 29 (three wickets ); total , 140.
