A neasy victory for Lancashire , due in the main to the good bowling of Briggs , Watson , and Barlow . Lancashire , who went in first , were all dismissed for 183 , but the Northamptonshire batting was quite powerless against the three bowlers named, and there was not a change in either innings of Northants . G. Bull (24 and 10) wasthe only batsman able to get double figures each time , and he was the highest scorer on the side . Briggs took ten Northamptonshire wickets at a cost of 77 runs.
