TOWNSEND, F. A first -rate batsman, with good hitting power all round ; showed capital cricket for the County last year ; a fine field ; at times a successful " lob " bowler. VIZARD, W. O. (Clifton ). A very good bat on a fast wicket , with forward play , butnotm u c huse on a slowwicket; is slow but safe in the field . WINTERBOTHAM, A. S. (Rugby). Agood bat whenset ; fair field . J. H. BRAIN (Clifton and Oxford) and H. V. PAGE (Cheltenham and Oxford) play for Gloucestershire . H A M P S H I R E . ANDREWS, A. A very good bat; has great defence ; played excellent cricket during the season ; unfortunately cannot play very often for the County. ARMSTRONG, H. A useful medium-pace right -handed bowler ; a good bat. BENCRAFT, R. Agood bat, hitting hard onthe off -side ; is a safe catch ; bowls occasionally . BONHAM- CARTER , L. G. (Winchester ). goodout-field . A good bat; has a pretty style ; CALDER, H. A capital bat, with good hitting powers ; fair bowler, and moderatefield . CURRIE, C. E. (Cambridge ). Agood slow right -handed bowler , breaking both ways; splendid field ; poor bat. EVANS, A. H. (Clifton and Oxford). A first -class fast bowler, and fair bat ; good field anywhere. FELLOWES, Colonel . Ahard hitter ; right -handed bowler . FORSTER, H. W. (Eton and Oxford). Good slow left -handed bowler, and improving bat; excellent field . HEATH, A. B. (Cheltenham ), Agood bat and field . LACEY, F. E. (Sherborne and Cambridge). A fine all -round cricketer ; bats in neat style , and can hit hard; a good field , and at times effective as a slow r o u n d-a r mb o w l e r. LONGMAN, G. H. (Etonand Cambridge) . A good bat, hitting well all round ; a good out -field ; has given up first -class cricket now. MEYRICK-JONES, F. (Marlborough and Cambridge) . Goodbat, and fast run- getter ; slow in the field . POWELL, E. O. (Charterhouse and Cambridge) . A fine useful all -round cricketer ; has good defence , and can hit hard ; a good field . RICHARDS, A. C. (Eton and Cambridge). A fine , free bat, and a good slow right -handedbowler. SEYMOUR, C. R. (Oxford ). A steady bat ; good on a fast wicket ; not a reliable field. WALKINSHAW, F. H. A good bat, and fair wicket -keeper . WALLACE, Colonel . A good bat whenset ; is still a brilliant field . WATSON, A. L. (Winchester and Oxford). A good bat, possessing great patience andstrong defence; a fair field . WOOD, A. H. Adangerous batsman at times , and a fast scorer when set ; avery fair wicket -keeper ; has given up first -class cricket . K E N T . BLIGH, Hon. Ivo (Etonand Cambridge). A fine batsman, with great driving power; a brilliant out -field , and equally good near the wicket . Does not play first -class cricket now. CHRISTOPHERSON , S. (Uppingham). A good fast bowler ; of great use to the County in the earlier matches ,but an injury to his bowling arm prevented his playing towards end of season ; good field ; moderate bat, with good hitting powers .
