Cranswick (19.1 ) : Fine left- handedbat, with gooddefence; drives hardto the off ; splendid field anywhere; bowlsright-hand fast . C. Preston (13.10) : A slogging batsman; often threw awaya ninnings by playing to the gallery ; should play more on the defensive ; can bowl. F. Grainger (10.3 ) : Sound bat, withplenty of vigour ; must get over inclination to slog ; safe catch , but uncertain ground field ; a better bowler than he generally gets credit for . Rev. T. H. Hobbs (10): One of the best bowlersin the eleven, fast overhand; moderatebat, but has a beautiful off stroke ; magnificent field . M. Hunt(9.4) : A good medium-pace bowler , with break from leg, being most successful this season ; excellent field , with quick return ; moderate bat. B. A. Haughton (9.3): Stylish bat, but lacks energy ; improving field ; moderate bowler . J. Garland (6.8 ): Ex- cept on two occasions was very disappointing ; hits across too much, and might makemore use ofhis reach ; moderate field . H. Taylor (4.10 ) : Splendid slow bowler , with lots of spin ; un- certainbat, butcuts well; fine field . C. Miller (4.5) : Mostpromisingbat, as heplays straight andgets well over the ball ;dangerous fast bowler , with great spin from the off . T. L. Radford, Capt. (3.2) : Amostenthusiastic cricketer ; hasrendered great assistance to his club ; a regular " stonewaller" against fast bowling; rarely scores high, buthasa decided aversion to slows. Pippet (9.8 ): Steady bat ; smart field any- where. J. Wrighitt(9.4) : G o o dall-roundm a n; safe catch . E. W. Usher, aged14 (8.5) : Good, improving bat; hits well to leg ; has strong defence . W. Brown (7.6 ) : A fast scorer ; hits hard all round; change bowler ; smart field ; has been unlucky this season . R. R. Young (4.9 ) : Fair bat and field ; has improved . H. B. Bell (9.6): A n excellent fast bowler , rarely failing to take wickets , but must not over- bowlhimself; a slogging bat and moderatefield. H. B. Bolus (13.6) : Bats in excellent style , but somehow does not do himself justice ; a capital medium-pace bowler , with lots of spin, and a fine field . J. D. Cruickshank (12.8 ) : Did not sustain his batting reputation , butbowled admirably throughout ; on his day is irresistible ; safe in the field . A. D. Fripp (4.7): Still a fine field , but seems to have lost all his old form in the other departments of the game. A. C. Lavers (17.8 ): A most useful man; hits at times most brilliantly , and is beyonddoubt the finest field andcatch in the team. J. H. Lonsdale (8.6) : Useful on morethan one occasion by keeping up his wicket ; a good field ; a popular captain . F. Rawlings (4.9 ): Has good defence if he will only use it, and not try to slog ; an excellent field . W. J. Scott (13.8 ): Disappointed everybody by his batting ; occasionally useful as a change bowler ; good field , and most enthusiastic cricketer . F. D. Simpson (7.8) : Not a reliable bat ; his fast underhand bowling is at times very successful ; a goodfield . J. E. Stansfield (6.7) : Hadquite lost his batting last season , and his bowling was hardly required ; safe in the field . H. P. Thomas (11.6 ): Did not do as well as was hoped, either with bat or ball , but was, nevertheless , very useful ; a safe catch . C. H. Trimmer (4.3 ) : A good manto keep a side in spirits , as he is invariably cheerful himself ; moderate bat, fast bowler ,and energetic field .
