Adams (26.5 ) : A capital free -hitting bat, with a good eye ; he has played several excellent innings this year, but is frequently rather reckless , thoughhecanbat steadily w h e n he likes ; not much of a wicket -keep, but a good field ; oughtt odevelop into a first -class cricketer . W. R. Falkner(5.9) : Moderatebat, with somehitting powers; ordinary bowler; poorfield . H. T. Fall(2.5) : Plays vaguely, andis too fond of hitting; shouldlearn to stand upto his wickets ; rather over -bowls himself ; ordinary field . J. Fall (2.8 ): Hasthe makings of a goodcricketer ; cankeepup his wicket very nicely if he plays carefully ; rather over-bowls himself; varies considerably in his fielding , but is generally good, and occasionally excellent . W.K. Hopkins (13.6 ) : Good bat, with nice forward action ; a capital long -stop , but rather fond of getting hurt ; has the makings of a good cricketer . H. M. Hutton (3.6 ) : Painstaking bats- man, whowould doubtless have been far more successful if the grounds and bats had ever suited him; a fairly straight bowler , and very fair field . A. C. Laing (4.4 ): Moderate bat ; bowled very successfully this year, frequently getting a good lot of work on the ball ; very fair field ; as asecretary was a failure . W. D. Mansel (6.1) : Uncertain bat ,has been knownto makeruns ; poor field . A. Parsons , captain (4.7): Steady bat, with good forward action , which he occa- sionally carries a little too far; his average does not fairly represent his value to the side ; a moderatefield ; madea very fair captain. G. Parsons(4.2) : Steadybat, with nice forward style ; poor field ; should learn to keep out of sulks on the cricket -ground. H. R. Phelips (7.9 ) : Through giving himself up to tennis has fallen off considerably this year in his batting ; useful point. B O W L I N G A V E R A G E S . O v e r s. M a i d e n s. R u n s.
