Leechman (30.5): Agood all -round m a n, and decidedly the best m a nin the team, with a good defence , and powerful hitting powers , particularly onthe off , hiscutting beingparticularly clean andhard; heis a dangerousbatsman, thougha little weak on the leg side ; his bowling is fast medium, with a good length , and a break from both sides , morenoticeable from the off ; a brilliant field anywhere . H. Menzies (11.7 ) : Agood, steady bat,weakontheleg stump, but a mostuseful m a nat a crisis , ash enever loses his head; a n excellent field close in, and a moderatewicket-keeper. A. E. Broomfield(11.4) : A m e d i u m bat, weak in driving , and wanting in judgment ; he is a medium-pace bowler , with good length and a slight off break. F. M. Marzials (8.4) : A mediumbat, his chief fault being playing too m u c hforward; a fairly good field , and has been seen at the wicket. G .Wilson(6.5) : Asteady bat, but smothersthe ball too m u c h, anddoes not use his wrists enough; a smartfield , andof someuse as a changebowler. J. V. Lyle (6.5) : A goodbat, would be better if he played forward more, and used his wrists ; a moderate field . L. Tubbs(6.6) : Wouldb ea goodbatbutfor his slogging propensities ; a goodfield , andhas bowleda little . H. Stallard (5.1) : Ahardhitter, with little judgment, is m u c htoo nervous, andis very slow in the field . H. S. (10.2 ): A very pretty bat, with strong defence , but lacks hitting power ; a safe field at cover -point , and an able and judicious captain . H. McClellan , Sec. (10.5 ) : An excellent all-round cricketer , being a first -rate bat, a useful bowler, and a sure field anywhere . E. Procter (12.5 ) : A good bat, but was some- what unlucky towards the end of the season ; inclined tobe lazy in the field . O. W. Whaley (3.5): A very effective bowler (7.3), securing a large numberof wickets; poorbat, andgood field . J. Scarbrough (10.6 ) : Avery useful memberof the XI.; a hard-hitting bat, fair bowler , and very smart field . W. Procter (12.2 ): A very pretty bat, but alittle inclined to pull across his wicket ; a safe catch in the long field , and ought to make a thoroughly good cricketer . G .C. W a n d(12.8) : Afine, free-hitting bat, buta little troubled with nervousness in theearly part of the season ; a very useful change bowler , and good field . H. C. Jackson (8.1 ): A useful but very unlucky bat; occasionally of service as a bowler ; his fielding at point w a one of the features of the season . F. Bulman(3.4 ) : Avery fair bat, with good defence
