(16.5 ) : Has been always pretty certain to score , being especially strong in his leg hits; a straight , thoughnot deadly, bowler; behindthe wicket hasbeen very suc- cessful ; as captain has allowed manythings to look after themselves . A. R. Bankart (8.1 ): A fast bowlef , always sure of getting wickets , at times unplayable , when the ground has been in good condition , and having a difficult break ; as a batsman not a success , because he loses self-control , but has scored against weak bowling. A. Lloyd(3.2) : 1s best in the field at point or cover; as a slow left -a r mbowlerhas at times beeneffective , butis often loose; his batting ought to haveimproved, but is confined to a longhit n o w andagain. R. S. Davies(2) : Cannotboast a straight bat, but tries to hit hard; is a safe catch , and throws well . D. P. Williams (7.2) : Though small , stands up well at the wickets , a n dmakesneat cuts. H. F. Patrickson(1.3) : Playscarefully ,butscores little ; hasbeengood at long-stop. E. D. Williams (7) : W h e nawake fields fairly well; his score against Friars' Schoolpoints to better things nextyear. AmosJones(2.2): H a snot w o nthe glory expected of him; with proper practice will no doubt improve all round. F. S. Clamp (1.5 ): Will , we think, distinguish himself later on. Arthur J. Jones (2.5) : Plays regularly and improves ; his height should give hima great advantage , when he opens his shoulders ; is a pretty safe catch . P. Mr.R. G. Morris (21.9): A really goodbat, withfine free style andgoodpunishingpowers; as wicket-keeper proved of great service to the eleven. Mr. J. H. Gill (7 2 2) : W h e nwell set hits very hardandclean; difficult slow bowler; smart field . Mr. S. M. Stanley (17.6) : A very good andsafe bat, makingruns w h e nmost wanted; a first -rate out-field , andbrilliant catch . G. J. E. Pryor (5.18 ): Good straight over- hand bowler ; batted well at the beginning of the season ; good catch in long -field ; has captained the team through a successful season ; has left . S. G. Wilkinson (20.22 ): Has battedexcellently throughoutthe season,being especially strong o nthe off ; mustexert him- self morein the field . C. A. Bangley(9.5): Excellent round-arm bowler; comesup very quick from the pitch , with plenty of spin ; good bat,but too fond of hitting . H. Squire (10.14 ) : Plays in good style, makingfull use of his height; safe catch andfield , and a promising bowler. H. Morris (7) : Batsin a style of his own; fairfield, but requires smartness in return. H. R. Wetherall(5.20) : Shouldshowagreat deal morefreedomin his batting ; has m u c himproved as a bowler. C. F. Clarke (3) : Cameout as a defensive player , but thrown back a greatdeal b yillness ; very fair field at cover-point . J. L. Davies (13.4) : A goodbat; plays sound andpretty cricket ; very good medium-pace bowler , and safe field , D. B. James (1.6) : Disappointing as abat, but a splendid field at point ,where he effected some marvellous catches . E. H. W. Leachman, capt . (22.10 ): Agood bat, making his runs very quickly , especially on a hardwicket ; an excellent field anywhere , and a fair change bowler ; an energetic captain . H. Leggatt (4.1) : Uncertain bat, with a style of his own; fair fast bowler and field , but apt to drop a catch . W. S. Lynch (10.3 ) : Very pretty bat, with good defence ; very fair field . C. F. Mermagen(19.4 ) : The most reliable bat in the eleven , his defence being very strong ; good change slow bowler ; fair wicket -keep . N. Perkins (32.12 ): A good all -round m a n; the best bat in the eleven , hitting very hard when set ; also a good fast round-arm bowler , and very reliable field . H. L. Rogers (4.9 ): Apromising batsman; should be good next year if he really tries ; poor field . J. Tothill (10): Improved greatly as a bat since last year, and gets runs whenmost wanted ; good medium-pace bowler ,and reliable field anywhere .
