W.ff . Fendall : Fell off inbatting towards the end of the season , and did not come up to expectations in bowling ; a fair field . *W. G. Boyd: Avery careful bat, always keeping up his wicket well , and, although not scoring fast , of the greatest use to the eleven in this department ; a fair field . *H. B. Carver : Has improved greatly as a bat, being especially strong on the leg side , but weak on the off ; a good fast bowler,but always lacked confidence whenmost needed ; a fair field , but returns badly. *E. J. Nelson : Improved wonderfully as a bat, showing to most advantage in anuphill game; in the latter part of the season developed a talent for fast underhand bowling ; a very energetic field . A. S. Littlewood : Acareful bat,butdid not use his hitting powers enough; a very good field . A. C. Clapin : Averypromising left -handslow bowler ; a poor bat, perhaps owing to aninjured arm; a sure field , with good return . *C. L. H. Chaldecott : Disappointing as abat, owing chiefly to his attempts to pull straight balls ; a good change bowler, although sometimes erratic ; a very good field at point . G. A. Ellis : Not successful as a bat, often throwing awayhis wicket by hitting at random; a very steady bowler, and fair field . T. H. Ll.
