Walters (Captain ) : Hasnot done himself justice as a bat ; his forward play is apt to give c. andb. and mid-off catches on a slow wicket ; good field , and can take the wicket. F. C. L. Hamilton : An excellent bat-always playing the game ; good in the field . *F. B. Morgan : Avery promising bat, off -driving and cutting often brilliant ; auseful medium-pace bowler, with a puzzling action . *L. W.Roberts : Much improved as abat; his forward drives are good, but he is weakin cutting ; takes the wicket, but without conspicuous success . *L. W. Hallward: Can punish loose ,but is not reliable against good bowling ; has too muchtendency to flourish , and is cramped in back play; a sure catch . *A. W. T. Perowne : A left -handed bat, combines caution with hard hitting ; is an excellent judge of a run, andis very fast between the wickets . A. M. Batty : Athoroughly reliable bowler, withgood action , and does not easily tire ; improving as a bat. *P. S. Surtees : Afast run-getter against weakbowling ; wanting in defence ; a very quick but very erratic bowler. *E. F. A. Hext: Avery painstaking bat, plays with stiff arms rather than wrists ; an excellent point . *A. A. Dealtry : Acorrect bat, but wants power ; his slow round-hand bowling is sometimes useful , but is too slow . *O. R. Bruce : Has a good eye, and with care would makea good bat ; plays vigorously rather than correctly ; a moderate change bowler. H A R R O W S C H O O L . Captain for 1886 , M. J. Dauglish .
