1 4 2 LILLYWHITE'SCRICKETERS' A N N U A L. a slow field . *A. B. Peile : The most reliable bowler in the team, but hadnot enough break to be ever very dangerous ; amuchimproved bat . *P.F. Richardson : Wasvery useful to the XI., always going in first , and playing very steadily . J. S. Scott : Is theoretically a most excellent bat ; understands the gamefully , and is an habitué of Lord's and the Oval; we hope sincerely that the next season m a ynot bring the same disappointments to himand to us as the last ; perhaps if less had been expected of him he would have done far more. *E. Blunt : A stylish bat ; bowled fast round- arm ; not very straight . L. Dale : Plays in as good form as any one in the X I., but was too small and nervous last season to makemanyruns ; will do something both with bat and ball in 1887. H. Taps- field : Will be very good all round; muchimproved as a bat, and only wants better pitch to become a first -rate slow bowler. * L. Paine : Avery fair bat, but too slow in the field . R. Watmough: Avery fair bowler , generally on the spot ; n ob a tat all . B R I G H T O N C L L E G E . Captain for 1886 , G. H. Cotterill . Resultsof M a t c h e s.
