Philcox : Steady batsman, andthoroughly experienced cricketer ; useful behind the sticks , andbowls lobs . F. W. Woodward : Plays very straight , and is hard to get out ; moderate in the field . A. W. Osborne : With practice might make a very fair bat ; fine field at slip , and can bowl. H. H. Brown: Dashing hitter , with a crooked bat ; active field ; altogether a muchimproved cricketer . A. J. Richardson : Ponderous hitter ; fair fast bowler, and great judge of the game. A. N. C. Treadgold : Played but little owing to reading ; whenin practice a good and effective bats- m a n. L. H. Teale : Wantsmore power in order to get runs ; bats in good style , andfields well . C. D. Giles : Goodfast bowler, with easy action ; hits hard, and is a slow field . F. W .
