TELEGRAPHBOARDS.-Anewthing in the wayof Telegraph Boards was inuse at Lord's during the match which began onMonday. It is patented byMessrs . Paget and Co. of Loughborough , and is much more complete than the boards ordinarily used. Eachrun is added to the full score as soon as made, and, under the numbersof the batsmen, their individual totals are also kept up. Thefigures after each runwas scored were worked with great rapidity , andthe board is undoubtedly an improvement on the old one. Indeed, whenfigures can be so quickly altered , there is practicably little limit to what maybe done with a telegraph board. " S C O T T I S HN E W S. "-Sept. 20, 1886. During Mr. Murdoch's match a new Scoring Board was tried ,which is certainly a nadvanceuponanything that has yet been seen in this country . The score is altered as every run is made, andthe total of each not-out m a ngiven, with the numberscorresponding to the nameson the card. Spaces are also given for the numberof wickets downand the score madebythe last player out. The figures are workedbycards , andcanbe very rapidly altered , and the spectator is able to see directly hecomes on the ground the exact position of the game. This is a great improvement on the plan of only putting the totals by tens , giving no idea ofaman'sscore until out. Thepatentees are Messrs . A. Paget & Co., Engineers , of Loughborough.
