MCINTYRE, MARTIN.-Died on Feb. 28, A well -knownmemberof the Notts X I. about ten years ago ; a very effective fast bowler and excellent all-round cricketer . W a s one of Mr. W . G. W a sone of the best bowlers in the Wellington College XI.'s of 1881 and '82 , and in '83 and '84 the most successful bowler for the Royal Military Academy. Proved very effective as a bowler for the Royal Engineers during the early part of last season . H a dalso played for Gentlemen of Sussex . Wasonly in his twentieth year at the time of hisdeath. OKELL, T.-Died in June. A promising bowler . On the staff of the ManchesterClub at Old Trafford. OSCROFT, JOHN.-Died June 16. A well-known Notts professional . Played for the County some years ago, and was also a memberof the All- EnglandX I. O'SHAUGHNESSY, E D W A R D.-Died on Aug. 6. A few years ago did good service to Kent as an all -round cricketer . A slow round-armbowler and good hitter . H a dbeenengagedat Lord's since 1880. PREST, WILLIAM.-Died at Sheffield , Jan. 10. 1885. Aleft -handed bats- man, whodid good service for Yorkshire some twenty years ago . Wasfor a long time on the Committee of the Yorkshire County Club. A n excellent field , particularly at long field and cover point . Was, too , an excellent runner, particularly at short distances . SAMPSON, H E N R Y.-Died on March 29. Born at Sheffield in 1813. W a s inhis time one of the foremost players in Yorkshire . A s a batsman had few superiors . Defeated Thos. Marsden in a single wicket match at Sheffield in 1841 by an innings and 50 runs. Inhis early days associated with the United X I. SANDERSON, G.-Died Jan. 2. A well -known Scotch amateur ; captained the Royal HighSchool (F.P. ) Teamfor seven years . SIMS, R E V. H E R B E R TM A R S H.-Died on Oct. 5. Wasin Cambridge Elevens of 1873, '74, and '75 , for which he did good service , chiefly as a bowler (fast round-arm). W a s chiefly identified with Yorkshire Gentlemen, and played occasionally for the County. S T O W, E. A . -Died on March27 fromthe effects of a collision with another player in a match on Adelaide Oval. STEWART, GENERALSIR HERBERT.-Died on Feb. 16 of a wound received in the capture of Metemneh, after leading the flying column across the SoudanDesert with signal success . W a sin the WinchesterX 1. of 1860, and knownthen, as subsequently , as a hard hitter and excellent wicket -keeper . TEAPE, A R T H U RSTANLEY.-Died on March1. Wasin the Eton X I. of 1862, and in the three succeeding seasons in the Oxford University Team. V e r ysuccessful as a fast round-a r mbowler. W A L K E R, JOHN.-Died on Aug. 13. The eldest of the seven brothers Walker, all of w h o mhave been in the front rank of cricketers . Played for Cambridge in 1847 , and represented the Gentlemen against the Players from 1852 to 1863 with few exceptions . A fine hitter and excellent wicket keeper .
