His slow round-arm bowling was very successful both at Eton and Cambridge ; Senior Fellow and Vice-Master of Trinity College . Amemberof the old Mont- pelier Club, and of great use to Surrey in the earlier days of the County Club. H ewas the movingspirit in the acquisition of Kennington Oval as a cricket enclosure , and the transfer of the ground from a market garden was entirely due to him. H ewas a left-handed batsman, and one of the best menof his day. A great supporter of the gameto the last . BAILEY, ALFREDH E A D.-Died on Dec. 31, 1884. Originator and pro- prietor of Bailey's Magazine, in which position he was well knownin most branches of sport . CURTIS, GEORGE.-An old Inter -Colonial player ; represented N e wSouth Walesagainst Victoria in the Inter-Colonial matchof 1862. A great supporter oftheg a m ein N e wSouthWales. C U R S H A M, A R T H U RWILLIAM.-Died Dec. 24, 1884. Played for Notts, the county of his birth , in 1876, and a few years later was seen occasionally in the Derbyshire XI. A good all -round player and keen cricketer , as well as footballer . C O L M A N, JEREMIAH.-Died on M a y 21. One of eleven brothers who played several matches against Norfolk teams in or about the year 1845. A liberal supporter of cricket . D U D L E Y, E A R LOF.-Died May7. Was in Oxford Elevens of 1841 and 1842, in both of which years his fast bowling was attended with some success against Cambridge. WasPresident of M.C.C. in 1864, and one of its trustees u pto the time ofhis death. ELLIOTT, E.-Died on March19. years ago . Officiated latterly as umpire Australia. A well-known Victorian player a few in most of the important matches in GOODRICH, T. C.-Died in March. One of the best lob bowlers cricket has produced . Waschiefly identified with the Free Foresters , for whomhe was very successful. JORDAN, DAVID.-Died on Dec. 15. In his time was well-knownin Metropolitan cricket ; umpired for Southgate and other well-known Clubs ; subsequently , for manyyears, ground superintendent at Lord's .
