In a match (one-innings ) between the Union and the Press Clubs in Australia , in January, each side totalled 32; the previous match played betweenthese clubs resulted in a tie , 32 being scored by each side . On Aug. 10 and 11 at Tenby, in a match between Royal Munster Fusiliers v. Tenby, each side scored 51 in the first and 51 in the second innings . In July in a match between Carlisle GrammarSchool and Depot Border Regiment, each side made 42 in first and 57 in second innings . I n a match at Hornchurch on Aug. 27, between Mr. J. Wiffen's and Mr. T. Wilson's X I., scores of each side were 14 a n d37. C u r i o u sI n c i d e n t s . O n July 1, at the cricket practice at Loretto , a ball hit hard along the groundbya batsman at one end of the nets hit a large rat as it was coming out of a hole at the edge of the turf and killed it on the spot. On Aug. 12, in a match at Cambridge between Caius and Trinity Hall Long Vacation Clubs , a ball from Mr. Cordeaux, who was bowling for the former, hit a swallow flying across the wicket and killed it . On Aug. 13 in a match at Clifton between Gloucester v. Lancashire the game was interrupted by a sea-gull hovering over the wickets , the players indulging in shies at it with the ball .- O nSept. 7 W . Wright, the Nottingham professional , played a single wicket match against eleven menof Nottingham . He won easily , eleven only scoring 6.- On Aug. 14 at Eastbourne , in a match between M.C.C. and Ground v. Eastbourne , while the gamewas proceeding a rabbit ran across the pitch .- M r. W.D. Bovill , playing for Free Foresters v. East Gloucestershire , at Cheltenham, on July 27 and 28, took all ten wickets in the first innings of East Gloucestershire .
