Afine left -hand batsman, with good hitting powers ; was in good form last season , and obtained the highest batting average with 49.3 for 15 innings ; goodfield andoccasional bowler, can also keep wicket ; played a magnificent not-out innings of 218 v. Gloucestershire at Brighton. MCCORMICK, E. J. A good bat ; occasional right -arm bowler, and good field ; played two good innings at Cheltenham v. Gloucestershire . N E W H A M, W. A very fine bat ; reached the coveted century for the County three times in 1885 ; a good field , and useful as a change bowler. SHARP, C. A good left-handed bat ; hits hard ; a hard-working field , and occasional bowler ; did not play for the Countylast season ; has left England. W H I T F E L D, H. (Eton and Cambridge). A fine steady bat, and brilliant field ; wasunable to assist the County more than once last season . W Y A T T, G. N. (Cheltenham).
