Taylor (37.10 ) : Splendid bat, having of late greatly improved in his hitting ; very good and effective medium-pace bowler , breaking both ways; a capital field. H. Leadbeater (32) : Very fine left -handed bat, with strong defence, and great hitting power; good change bowler, and splendid field any- where. W. T. Graburn (23.4) : Plays in beautiful style , andhas a fine hit on the off-side, buthardly so strong on the on; should practice fielding . Duckworth , professional (21.19 ) : Usefulbat, nearly always making runs ; good medium-pace bowler, with good length , and takes agooddeal of watching; good field ; re-engaged for next season . G. Watson (19.1 ) : Hasplayed for the club for upwards of twenty years , and is still most reliable ;not apretty bat by anymeans, but a regular " stonewaller ," and very difficult to get rid of. T. Dixon (19) : A plucky little cricketer , but with the exception of a capital innings of 110 (not out),hardly realised expectations ; useful change bowler , fair field , and can keep wicket. Major Bruce (12.4) : W h e nin form a first -rate bat, and quick scorer : good bowler and field . R. Baker (11.7 ) : For manyyears the mainstay of the club , both in batting andbowling,buthardly so good as formerly , though still a very dangerous fast bowler. H. R. Charlwood (9.2 ) : Played but little during 1885 , owing to illness . D. Hunter (9.1 ) : The wicket-keeper of the eleven , and a very good one ; hard-hitting bat, but wantsmorepatience . S. F. Yeoman (8.3 ) : W e n toff lamentably in his batting during last season , possibly through want of practice ; whenin form hits hard, but does not play straight ; a fast and sure out-field . W.
