W. Marsh : A really good bat, having an exceedingly clean hitandneat cut ; a good captain , and anexcellent judge of the game. T. Sankey : H a d thehighest batting average of the team; a brilliant batsman, having fine defence , with great punishing powers ; a most useful medium-pace bowler. W. H. Hill : Avery steady andsafe bat, with strong defence , his cutting and off -driving being especially noticeable ; a good field anywhere, particularly at point ; a sure catch ; has madea most energetic secretary . H. M. Dexter : Has improved wonderfully since last season ; is a hard and successful hitter ; has been very effective as a fast bowler ; not too quick in the field . F. G. Hudgell : A fast under-hand bowler, with plenty of spin ; at times difficult ; improved considerably in batting ; does not exert himself in the field . A. G. Ball : A splendid field ; has taken the wicket very well ; shows improvement in batting . A. L. Harris : Acareful and pretty bat, seldom failing to score ; winner of the average bat ; uncertain field ; wants muchmore " go." E. K.
