Farrant : A really good fast bowler on his day, with a nasty curl in the air ; amuchimproved field ; did not makeany marked advance in batting . J. H. Kelsey : Beganvery well , especially as a bowler , but owing to an accident fell far below anticipations ; has plenty of cricket in him, and with a little more dash will makean excellent all -round mannext year. *R. W. Sale : Surprisingly uncertain ; bats very fairly sometimes , but is never a match for a slow bowler ; poor field , butuseful change bowler . *A. M. Daniel : Played one useful innings during the year, but was not to be relied on for runs ; whenhe tries is a fair ground field . J. Bellhouse : Fielded very pluckily at mid-off , throughout the season ; has some notion of bowling , but as yet is most unsuccessful with the bat. H. Flowers : A fine field at cover point with brilliant return ; safe catch ; no bat ; with care might become a puzzling slow bowler . R O S S A L L S C H O O L . Captain for 1885, B. L. Lee-Smith.
