Pike (Captain ) : Has a good defence , playing with a straight bat ; has plenty of strength , and might with advantage use it in playing out stronger , and sometimes turning the tables on the bowler ; handles his m e nwell in the field , and has madea good captain . *J. B. Rawlin- son : Sometimes a very dangerous bowler, and will no doubt improve yet further ; should rememberthat to be a successful bowler the mens sana is very necessary , and that when bowling once gets wild anyone can knock it about ; goodfield ; moderate bat. *A. W. Lemarchand : Has plenty of power, but here, again, discretion is sometimes at a discount , and the temptation to make a good hit too strong ; a keen cricketer , always playing up; capital field and good
