Brown : Stylish bat, with good defence ; punishes loose bowling well ; safe field ; as captain has shown great energy , and is to be congratulated on a very fairly successful season . *H. E. D. Hammond: Good bat, with brilliant hitting powers ; first -rate slow bowler,breaking both ways, andin this respect has been the back-bone of the team ; team; safe field and sure catch . T. W. Cook : A really good bat on a fast wicket , cutting especially well ; excellent field at cover -point , with quick and straight return ; his fast bowling has proved useful in emergencies . H. Pellatt : Muchim- proved inbatting this season , but too muchinclined to get under the ball ; on his day agood mediumpaced bowler , but has not quite fulfilled expectations ; uncer- tain field . *J. W. Green : Bats in correct style , but has been very disappointing ; fair bowler andfield . E. Jackson : Unsafe, but at times useful , bat ; strong on the off ; casual field . E. L. Fisher : Steady and plucky bat ; poor field . А. М. Woodard: Magnificent field at point ; tame bat, with cramped style ; fair bowler. N. G. Gwynne: Fair bat, makinggood use of his reach ; slack in the field . T. L. Nelson : Batted well at the beginning of the season ; fair bowler ; poor field . C. H.
