HARROWELEVEN IN 1885.-*E. M. Butler (Capt., 2nd year) : A very dangerous bat, with good defence , and makes full use of his long reach ; possesses , too , wonderful nerve and coolness at a crisis ; a good field at point ; as captain displayed great judgment in the selection and managementof his eleven . * W. A. R. Young : Disappointing this year as a bat ; bowled very well v. Eton; at all times a steady bowler ; good slip . *A. K. Watson : Very fine bat, but especially on a fast wicket ; has scored two centuries for the school , including a very fine innings of 135 v. Eton ; hits brilliantly on the off , driving and cutting very hard ; good field in the country, and sometimes bowls withsuccess (slow right hand). *M. J. Dauglish : Has greatly improved this year; canhit brilliantly on a fast wicket, but does not watch the ball enough ona sticky wicket ; played one very fine innings ; splendid field anywhere ; at times kept wicket brilliantly ; Captain , 1886. *W. H. Dent : Verygood bat, with strong defence ; hits well all round ; scored one fine century v. Har- rowTown; very good field anywhere. *A. D. Ramsay: A tthe beginning of the year bowled splendidly , but then fell off (fast right) ; poor field andbat, but canhit hard. E. Crawley : A very good and correct bat on any wicket ; watches the ball well , and plays in a pretty style ; played a splendid innings of 100v. Eton; should prove first -rate next year; beautiful field at mid-off ; played this year for Herts . G. B. Bovill : Bowled very steadily throughout the year (mediumright hand, with slight leg break) ; fair bat andfield . C. H . Benton : A correct bat, with pretty style , but scores slowly : sometimes an effective bowler (slow left hand; good field . J. J. Sanderson : At times a brilliant cover -point , with veryquick return , but does not always hold easy catches , a hard hitting bat, likely to make runs. H. F.
