BAILEY, H A R R Y(Ardingly College ).- Aprominent memberof the Æolian andCivil Service Clubs. Diedin October. CUNLIFFE, CHARLESMORTON(Rugbyand Kent).-DiedOctober 15. A fewyears ago was of great use to Kent, though illness had prevented his active participation in the game for some seasons before his death . Amediumpace round- armbowler , at times very effective , with a distinct curl in the air ; a good bats- man, though not latterly so successful ; a keen cricketer . F A W C E T T, E D W A R DB. (Brighton , Cambridge, and Sussex).-Died Sept. 25. Played for Cambridge University in 1859 , '60 , and '61 ; and subsequently identified himself with Sussex cricket . His throw of 126 yards in the Brighton College Athletic Sports , when he was eighteen , was for years the longest authenticatedt h r o wof thecricketball. GRIMSTON, H O N. ROBERT(Harrow and Oxford).-Died April 7. One of the best supporters the gamehas ever had. In conjunction with the Earl of Bessborough coached the boys at Harrow School for manyyears . Wastwelfth m a nfor Harrowin 1833 ; subsequently played for Oxford. Asteady bat, with hard forward play ; especially successful against fast bowling . President of the Marylebone Club at the time of his death . G R A C E, MRS.-Died in July. Mother of the three brothers Grace : E. М., W .G., and G. F. Took great interest in the game, and was for years a regular frequenter at all the Gloucestershire fixtures and chief matches of the year . KING, R E V. ROBERTTURNER(Cambridge). Died in May. Born in 1824. A fine all round cricketer , a powerful hitter ; a fast round-armbowler, and the best point of his time . Played for Cambridge in 1846, and subsequently for theG e n t l e m e n. LEWIS, J. D.-A liberal sppporter of the game, especially in Hampshire , whereheresided ; at one time M.P. for Portsmouth. MORTLOCK, WILLIAM.-Died January 23. One of the best all-round members of the Surrey Eleven in the days of Miller , Burbidge , Lane, Dowson, Lockyer, Caffyn , Stephenson , and Julius Cæsar ; unrivalled as a long stop . M E R E W E T H E R , C. G., Q.C.-A keen supporter of the game; memberof M.C.C. , and for some years of Surrey County Club . MORLEY, FRED(Nottingham ).-Died on September 28. For some years
