Marsh : A really goodbat,having an exceedingly clean hit andneat cut ; a good captain , andanexcellent judge of the game. T. Sankey : Had the highest batting average ever obtained by a memberof the team: a brilliant batsman, having fine defence combined with great punishing power; a most useful medium-pace bowler. W. H. Hill : Has made a most energetic secretary ; a very steady and safe bat, with strong defence , his cutting and off- driving being especially noticeable : avery good field anywhere , particularly at point ; a surecatch andeffective lob bowler. H. Davies : Agoodbat, playing in good form; cuts exceedingly hard ; played some good innings during the season ; useful change bowler ; moderate field . H.M.Dexter : Toofond of a sensational hit, or wouldmakeagood bat; bowls with ahigh delivery ; improved in fielding , and has made a catch . I. H. Nichol : Averypretty bat, and makesruns off really good bowling ; an excellent field at mid-off ; sure catch . C. L. Petersen : Sometimes a difficult wicket to get ; a very angular style ; has beeninvaluable in the field ; some of the catches he has madehave beenquite brilliant . F. H. Usher : Improved greatly on last year's form; a safe field with a sure return ; a changebowler. A. Ball : a splendid long -stop : has taken the wicket very well ; will make agoodbat if he gives up the big hitting . F. G.
