Bennett: a goodbat; drives well , but was unlucky; bowls at times with success ; owing to a nunfortunate accident was prevented from playing during a part of the season ; has givengeneral satisfaction as a Captain . S. B. McBeath : greatly fallen off inbatting ; but o nthe other hand, a destructive bowlerand sure field ; practice retarded by illness . J.O. H u n t: a useful m a nto go in first , always staying in, but slow in getting runs ; as a bowler, hardly cameupto the form he showedlast year. H. W.Bennett : has kept wicket thegreater part of the season ; has not comeoff as a bat. W. T. H. Elsley : batted much better this season , butlost his wicket several times bynot playing a straight bat; fine field at point. Thos. Inman: played very steadily and cautiously , generally madea goodm a n y runs; obtained top average ; his bowling has been invaluable to the Club throughout the season . W .Barclay : much improved as a bat ; bowls a little . K. Martin : a fair bat; fine long field and very fast bowler. J. R. Macintyre : a left -hand bat, and uncertain ; too m u c hinclined to slog . J. W. R. Still : a steady but rather uncertain bat; a fairly good bowler ; long-stops well . W. Sharp : promised well in practice , but disappointed in matches; will do better another season. Thomas : A very steady bat, often obtained a good many runs ; also bowled well . F. W. Taplin : a good bat, generally made runs ; a useful long -stop . R. M. Latham ahard hitter , who made good scores in several matches ; often successful in taking wickets with underhandslows . T. R. Potbury : a good bat, though often unlucky; played , however, almost the best innings seen on the School ground during the season, showing great powerboth of hitting and defence against very good bowling , A. A. Little would be a very good bat if he were not nervous onbeginning aninnings ; when, however, he has madea few runs he plays very well indeed . H. H. Taplin : a good mediumpace bowler, and useful as a bat. Н. Т. H. Williams : has, perhaps, made more improvement since last year than any other memberof the eleven; played very steadily , and generally obtained between ten and twenty runs. R. A. W .Barfoot : oneof the very best bowlers there has ever been among theboys, andcontributed very greatly to the success of the eleven during the term. J. N. Pearce : apretty bat. E. G. Taplin : throws well , and was very useful as a long field . J. Carter : a fair player . F. R.
