A. Armitage : Hasmaderuns in the few school matches he has played in this year . C. Gibson : Avery steady bat, andgood all -round player ; has never failed to serve all through the season ; should learn to judge a run better . C. Sherring : Generally went in first with Gibson, and always played sound and careful cricket : improved considerably in his wicket-keeping ; should be invaluable next season . W. R. Moon : Can hit veryhard indeed , and is difficult to get out when set ; a safe catch in the deep field . H. Harrison : Avery pretty and taking bat ; might become a good bowler if he would pay more attention to pitch and less to pace . R. Sandilands : The neatest and best field in the eleven ; would do muchbetter in the batting line , probably , if steadier . H. P. Lowe : Cameon wonderfully towards the end of the season , and should be very good next year. P. C. Probyn : Secured his place in the eleven principally owing to his fine fielding ; he batted steadily at times . C. Barwell : Batted well at the commencementof the season , but fell off some- w h a tat the end; a poor field . W I N C H E S T E R C O L L E G E . Captain for 1884, P. Humphrey.
