P. Simpson (Capt.) : A very pains- taking cricketer ; has very much improved in batting , and been successful of late ; a first -rate point ; has taken praiseworthy pains in the managementof the school cricket . Prince Christian Victor : A very promising bat ; has a bril- liant stroke behind point , where he nearly always makes runs ; not so strong on the leg -side ; a good short slip . A. C. M. Croome : Disappointing this season ; has not been so successful in batting or bowling ; is useful anywhere in the field , andought to make a good wicket-keeper as well as bat. *A. C. Eyton : Batted very well at the beginning of the season ; has a tendency to play back to half volleys , cuts well , and drives well on the off -side ; should practice leg-hitting ; gooddeep field and catch ; should be of great use next season . *G. H. Davidson : Ahardandclean hitter ; has not come off as muchas we should have wished ; his fielding , however, entitled himto his place in the eleven . *J. W. W. Smith : Apretty bat ; can cut and play well all round, leg-hitting excepted ; bowls well and straight , keeping a good length ; on a hard wicket can field cover -point . C.
