Burbury (Captain ) : As captain has performed his duties excellently ; has been careful and energetic , and is felt to be a great loss ; is a good bat, with a pretty cut, and a good hit to leg ; comesdownwell on an over-pitched ball ; has a stiff forward stroke , and is apt not to watcha good length ball ; is a first class field ; as a fast bowler useful , but wild. *G. Kemp: Likely to be a first -class bat ; hits well and prettily to all parts of the field , but is a little blind on the leg side sometimes ; apainstaking field ; canbowl slow round a little ; is apt to lose heart . *R. J. Wilson : A steady , good bowler, with a fair break on a hard wicket ; was very useful to the eleven ; a very plucky and useful field ; as a bat stiff , and not quite straight , but coming down very hard . *T. C. Wynne : A left arm bowler ; useful on his day ; has a fair forward drive , but no back play to speak of; slow in the field . P. C. Ash : Has greatly improved as a bat; does not yet seem to have a very good sight of the ball ; should be good next season ; a fair wicket -keeper and excellent out-field . H. R. Miles (Captain 1885) : A s a bat a little stiff , and not yet absolutely straight , but with an excellent eye and hard to get out ; an excellent point and wicket -keeper . *E. L. Hentley : A careful bat, with fair forward play, but hardly any back play ; an energetic field . *A. Line: Ahard hitter , too fond of a pull ; covers muchground in the field . *F. Worthington : Plays very straight and well, but hits very little ; a goodfield , but needs practice . W. Pryce Jones : Abowler with a good break- back, rather uncertain ; should make a useful bat; an excellent field . H. Baldwin : A stylish bat, but has a poor sight of the ball ; a hard -working field.
