Ford: Didnot fulfil the expectations formed of him, owing to constant attacks of hay-fever ; has all the makings of a first -class cricketer ; ought to be very good next season ; even nowis a very difficult bowler , and in practice the best bat in the team ; Captain for 1885. * W . J. Livingston : Wonderfully quick and sa fe in the field ; a poor bat. D. Marriott : Often kept up his wicket , and seldom made mistakes in the field , but will never makea cricketer . J. Jackson : With more energy ought to becomevery useful ; can bowl fast and straight , and is a fair bat against fast bowling.
