Yardley (Captain ) : His batting has not beenas successful as it wouldhavebeenbutfor his accident, and his chief fault is that of bendinghis kneesand so getting legbefore as the ball is delivered ; but his bat is very straight , and whenat the net would be backed to get manyruns ; his bowling is very fair though slow and rather laboured , but his fielding is brilliant . *J. H. Copleston : Is turning into a first -class bat; he has played several excellent innings , and has gone on improving ; the dangers he has to guard against are those of having sometimes too much, sometimes too little , con- fidence , and also that of mistaking flourish for style ; at present he has a good sound style , but there have been slight indications of a little flourish at times whichwouldbefatal to h i m. *P. E. Harrison : Agood steady bat ; hasbeen rather unlucky in getting runs , but still a very difficult wicket to get ; has improved in the field . 7T. M. Pike : Aneat and good bat ; fields very well , with good return . J. B. Rawlinson : A good fast bowler with plenty of work on the ball , but apt to lose his head if punished ; sometimes makes runs ; a poor field . *A. W. Lemar- chand : Afast bowler , always on the wicket ; at times has proved very destructive ; has not been so successful in batting as might have been expected ; capital field anywhere. A. F. Woodhead : Agood slow bowler , fair break both ways, by far the mostuseful bowler in the eleven ; fields very well at long slip ; in batting is a powerfulhitter, but not m u c hstyle . G. C. Boosey : Avery fair bat, oughtto begood next year ; smart field at point . *H. J. Sedgwick : A n effective bat in a peculiar style of his own; good long stop . J. E. Aldridge : A promising bat, buthasnot come off muchthis year ; fair field . A. D. Clark : Has a good idea of batting , but lacks vigour ; very slow in the field . M A R L B O R O U G H C L L E G E .
