Wix: Madea great manyruns at thebeginning , but was unfortunate at the end of the season ; too fond of playing straight balls to leg ; very fair fast bowler ; might have bowled more with advantage . Has used good judgment as captain . W. H. Brown : His batting this season has been beyond praise both in style and effect ; very safe defence , but canpunish loose bowling severely ; good judge of a run ; active in the field ; safe catch ; useful change bowler. H. E. D. Hammond: Soundbat, hitting well all round ; makeshis runs fast , and in good style ; his slow bowling has proved invaluable to the team ; good field anywhere ; safe catch . T. W. Cook : Very steady and useful bat ; drives well to the off ; weak on the leg side ; slow , but safe, field , with quick return . *A. Hammond: Although unfortunate at the beginning of the season , has been very useful to the team at the end in batting ; his steady slow bowling has been of great service ; good out-field ; safe catch . *W. H. Locke : Dashing bat with poor defence ; hits hard andclean ; good field ; canbowl. *E. F. Slocock : Haskept wicket brilliantly throughout the season ; stands up to fast and slow bowling alike ; bats in good style , but has failed to makeruns . H. Pellatt : Very promising medium-pace bowler ; keeps a good length with break from leg ; his batting improved greatly towards the end of the season ; must improve in his fielding . *E. S. S. Caudwell : Useful bat with a style of his own ; stays a long time at the wickets for his runs ; very fair field . *A. M. Payne : left -hand bowler, effective on his day ; very moderate bat ; should stand up to his wickets ; bad field . J. W.
