H. W. H. Philipson : A very effective batsman , possessed of considerable hitting power , and a most praiseworthy wicket -keeper ; a most useful memberof the team. Lord George Scott : Bats in excellent style , and should render a good account of himself another year ; an admirable field and a curious bowler , very apt to get wickets . E. G. Bromley -Martin : Adecidedly good slow bowler, with plenty of spin on the ball , and possessed of a cool judgment; bats in good form, though with not much success last year. H. J. Mordaunt: A thoroughly hard-working cricketer ; bats with some power, and occasionally plays capitally ; a good straight fast bowler , and very fond of the game. F. A. Soames : Plays correct cricket , but does not, as a rule , score very abundantly ; a fair change bowler. W. C. Bridgeman : A nexcellent field at point , but was on the whole unlucky with the bat. P. H. Barnard : Never got into his true form at Eton this year ; plays with considerable power on the off side whenset, but lacks defence ; a good out-field and safe catch . C. E. Murdoch: A very good out-field and safe catch ; a tolerable bat. H A I L E Y B U R Y C O L L E G E . Ceptain for 1884 , R. P. Spurway. R e s u l t sof M a t c h e s.
