CLIFTONELEVENIN 1884 .-* C. C. Bradford : Asteady bat, with stubborn defence ; a safe field ; as captain has set a good example of painstaking cricket . * C. D. Sandford ; Played little till late in the season , and was not so successful as last year ; plays straight and in good form ; a good field at point . *R. H. Johnston : Perhaps the best wicket -keeper that Clifton has had ; a most successful bat, hitting well to leg , and cutting very hard ; always a most plucky andkeen cricketer . G Fowler : Has bowled fast-mediumwell throughout the season , and with considerable success at times ; has a deceptive action and break- back ; with more patient defence should make a fine bat . *F. P. Norbury : Promisedwell early in the season , but fell into a laboured style that was in- effective ; a slow field ; bowls mediumround as a change . G. M. King : Im- mensely improved as a bat ; hits hard , especially on the off- side , though he still has a somewhat cramped style of defence ; good field far out ; a fair change
