Mainly owing to Peate's bowling and the effective hitting of Mr. Hornbyand Barnes they had all the best of the gamethroughout , and were rewarded byan easy victory . Barnes played fine cricket for his 67 ; but Mr. Hornby, though his hitting was very noteworthy , was missed more than once . Blackham(4 and 32) was the highest scorer for the Australians .
