D U R I N Gthe season , as manyas one hundred and thirty matches were played byteams representing the Marylebone Club and Ground. Each year sees the enlargement of the Marylebone programme, and an increase of the responsi- bilities entailed by the liberal wayin which the Committee carry out the mission of the club-the development of the game. Ofthe long list of fixtures fulfilled by the Club, forty -nine were won; seventeen lost ; and as manyas sixty -four wereleft unfinished. O f the fifteen first -class matches, four were w o n; five drawn; and six lost . O nsome few occasions the elevens representing the Club werehardly worthy of its reputation , but generally the cricket was up to its best standard , and to carry out such a card satisfactorily reflects great credit on the executive.
