A good fast bowler ; was very effective against Surrey at the Oval ; likely to be of great use to the County ; moderate bat; goodfield . CUNLIFFE, C. M. (Rugby) . A very effective medium-pace bowler , with a great break; owing to ill -health has been absent from England, but will probably have returned by next summer. F O O R D-KELCEY, W. (Eton and Oxford). A very dangerous bowler, on a queer wicket ; hits freely ; well set ; does not play much first -class cricket n o w . HARRIS, Lord (Eton and Oxford ). A fine bat, playing in excellent style and hitting with great freedom ; a fine field with a very smart return ; played withconsistent brilliance last season. JONES, R. S. (Cambridge) . A n excellent bat, with great defence ; a good out- field and safe catch ; played a fine innings against Lancashire at Manchester , but waslost to the Elevenfor mostof the season. LIPSCOMB, F. Afast bowler ; on his day very effective ; hits hard at times . MACKINNON, F. A. (Harrow and Cambridge ). Asteady and safe bat ; a sure field ; did not play for Kentlast year. PATTERSON, W. H. (Harrow and Oxford) , a very fine defensive bat ; good field ; can bowl a little ; could only play in the later matches , but was of great use to the County. PENN, A. A good slow left -hand round -arm bowler , with plenty of judgment ; improved as a bat ; good field ; could only play very little for the County , owing to an accident .
