Murdoch, Esq., for their fine display of batting in the grand match England v. Australia , played at Kennington Oval, September , 1880. Ourn e w" Special Driver" Bat(Frowd's Patent) has given results hitherto unattained by any other Bat, the driving power being greater , and stinging or concussion to the hands is reduced practically to nil . Areduction in weight off r o moneto twoouncesis also effected . Although this bat has only been before the public a little over a year , its success has been altogether unprecedented in the annals of cricket . The opinions expressed as to its superiority to any other Bat are unanimous , and we have received numbers of perfectly spon- taneous testimonials concerning it , someof them being quite enthusiastic , from all parts of the country, and even from the colonies .
