LILLYWHITE, JAMES(Sussex).-Bornat Hove, Brighton, on October 29, 1825. Died at Cheltenham , on November 24, 1882 , aged 58. Son of William Lillywhite , the " great " slow bowler , and elder brother of John Lillywhite , whose name occurs in several great matches . Made his first appearance at Lord's for Middlesex against Marylebone , on May26 and 27, 1851, but appeared little in first -class matches . He was best known in connection with CheltenhamCollege , where he acted as coach for twenty- five years . The founder of James Lillywhite's Cricketers ' Annual, and of the firm of James Lillywhite , Frowd, and Co., its proprietors . MILLS, RICHARD (Kent).-Born February 16, 1798 ; died at Lamb's End, Rolvenden , January 25, 1882 , aged 84. Old Kent Cricketer . PAUNCEFOTE, BERNARD (Middlesex).-Died September 24, 1882, aged 34. W a sCaptain of the RugbySchool Eleven in 1865, and of Oxford University in 1869. SCLATER, A. W . B. (Sussex).-Accidentally shot in N e w Zealand June 1882. Played for Sussex County in 1878 , 1879 , and 1880. A good slow round arm bowler , his great height helping him ; also a useful bat . SMITH, ALONZO (Notts ).--Died December 31, 1881. Well known in Nottingham. THORPE, W. (Sussex ).-Died February 26, 1882. Well-known cricketer at Brighton. TILSON , JAS .-Died August 31, 1882.
